ADVOCATE, EMPOWER,
EDUCATE & END PERIOD POVERTY.

Why HFMC ?

Her flow my concern was founded on 19th of Feb 2017 after an encounter with a young girl (Diana Achieng’) around the 42 area of Kibra slums who had stained her skirt and had no means of getting pads.

Diana had asked her mother for money to buy pads but she said what she had was just enough for food and not pads. Having been a weekday and Diana was home we decided to help girls like her who are affected by the effects of poverty making them choose basic needs over period products and hence forced to miss school and later drop out after they realize they have been left behind in syllabus coverage.

If a girl missed school for 3 days a month, with each day having 7 lessons, our sisters miss 252 lessons a year.

Studies show that up to 65% of women and girls in Kenya cannot afford feminine hygiene products.

One in every 10 females had to improvise a hygiene solution during their monthly menstruation.

THE FLOW KIT – Support a child programme

The FLOW KIT  includes 12 packets of pads, 2 bar soaps, 3 bathing soaps, 6 rolls of tissue, Vaseline, 12 exercise books and pens.

Our two main programs are; Art work program and Mentorship program. Due to period poverty experience in slums and rural areas, our organization through charity sought not to ignore the plight of vulnerable and destitute girls in these areas.

20% OF EVERY SELL GOES TO PURCHASING A SANITARY PAD.

I believe it is important to have these conversations because our period is part of what makes us human, and humans must support each other.

Her Flow My Concern constantly stirives for ample distribution of menstrual pads to girls across Kenya, thereby reducing discomfort and health risks as well as boosting confidence and mental well-being. Let us ensure that our girls stay in school and empower them to achieve their full potential.
